Creating a versatile wardrobe capsule featuring complementary colours can transform your daily styling routine, making it both simple and stylish. In this blog post, we dive into the art of combining complementary colours, focusing on a capsule wardrobe that is casual, versatile, and perfect for a warm Southern climate.
Understanding Complementary Colours
Complementary colours are pairs of colors that, when combined, create a harmonious and visually appealing look. For this wardrobe capsule, we explore the classic combination of red and green. These colours, when chosen in the right shades, can create stunning outfits that are perfect for any occasion.
Versatile Outfit Ideas
Casual Day Outfits
For casual daytime looks, you can opt for plenty of neutrals but with personality.
The terracotta red jumpsuit is another great option for easy breezy days, offering both comfort and style. The knee-length shorts also offer a modern contemporary vibe to the capsule, but they are easy to wear and comfortable as well.
Consider pairing the green moss pants with slides and and a comfortable tee or a graphic breathable short-sleeves shirt in warm beige.
Evening Ensembles
Elevate your evening look with platform heel sandals in moss green, paired with a gingham top or cream and black abstract patterns sleeveless top and any of the bottoms.
The lime green skirt with heel platform sandals creates a chic and bold statement for dinner or a night out.
Standout Pieces in Complementary Colours Red and Green
The lime green skirt is undoubtedly the star of this capsule. It pairs beautifully with a more toned-down lime green top, creating harmony with the other pieces in the wardrobe.
But it pairs wonderful with the cream t-shirt and the warm beige short sleeves shirt result in a great eye-catching outfit. I cannot get over how perfect this raffia bag is completing each and every outfit in this capsule.
Lime green is also a great option for the beige dress, offering a jackpot combination for any occasion. This is why I added a shirt in a more tone-down shade of line green. Unlike the skirt, which is a very bright saturated shade, the shirt is less brighter, more muted so that it suits better an autumn typology.
